WHEREAS, pursua.nt to the "Annexa.tion of Uninha.bited Territory Act of z939 there ha.s been presented to the City Council of the City of' Lynwood., Ca.lifornia, a. petition da.ted. Octaber 8, 1956 executed by Pacific Iron and Steel Corporation of L.A., by D. B. Bertone, Secreta.ry, and f'our (4�) others, requesting the annexa.tion of certain property lying on the west side of Alameda. Street and extending soui,herly of Imperial Highway in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, a.nd lying within the following d.escribed bound.a.ries: Beginning at a. point in the westerly line of the parcel of land marked "Omri J. Bullis 100 .�+95 acres" on ma.p of the Bullia Land recorded in Book 3, page 39g of Miscellaneous Record.s in �he office of the Record.er of' the County of Los .Ang�les, California, distant northerly thereon 2028.55 feet, more or less, from the southwesterly corner of sa.id. parcel of land, said. point being the north�resterly corner of the pa.rcel of la.nd. d.escribed. a.s Pa.rcel 1 in deed to Ka.tsujiro Horiuchi, et al, recorded in Book 47365, page 266, of the of'f'icial records in the office of' sa.id Recorder; thence northerly along the westerly line of the aforementioned parcel of land, "Omri J. Bullis 100.�95 a.cres" to 'che center line of Imperial Highway (f'ormerly Lynwood. Road) as shown on map of Watts Park Tract record.ed in Book 8, page 70 of Maps, in the office of said Recorder; thence easterly along sa.id. center line to the boundary line of the City of Lynwood. as said boundary line existed on June 15 1956 thence southerly along said la.st mentioned. boundary a.nd. following the same in al1 its va.rious courses to a point on the easterly line of afore- mentioned Parcel 1 in deed to Katsuj�ro Horiuchi, et al; thence -1- northerly and westerly a.long the boundary of said last mentioned parcel of land to the point of beginning,_ WI�REAS, sa.id. territory is uninhabited, unincorpora.ted territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, and WHEREAS, sa.id petition is signed by the owners of not lesa �han one-fourth of the area of land. in such territory a.nd representing not less than one-fourth of the a.ssessed. value of such territory according to the la.st preceeding equalized a.ssessment ro11 of the County of Los Angeles, Sta.te of Ca.lifornia, in which territory is situated, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; Section l: That pursuant to the "Annexa.tion of IIninhabited. Territory Act of 1939 a.s amend.ed., the City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby gives notice of said proposed a.nnexation. Seetion 2: Said territory is hereby d.esignated for identifica.tion a.s "Alameda Street Annexa.tion No. 2." Section 3: Said City Council hereby gives notice of and fixes the 4�h day of December, Z956 at the hour of' 8:00 p.m, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road., Lynwood, Cali- fornia a.s the day, hour, and place when and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed. to be a.nnexed and having any objections to the proposed. a.nnexa.tion ma.y appea.r before the City Council of' said City pf Lynwood and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed.. Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby directed. to ca.use a copy of this resolution to be published once a week for two (2) successive weeks prior to said hearing, in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published. in said. City of Lynwood, and also in the Herald. American, a newspaper of general circulation published. outside of �he City of' Lynwood. but in the County in which is located. the terri�ory proposed to be annexed..
