HomeMy Public PortalAbout2004-039 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 368Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.04-39 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 368 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 368 an ordinance amending section 834.01 et _sec . of the city's code of ordinances regarding the Uptown Hamel zoning district; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 368 is 23 pages in length and involves charts and maps; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the amended ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 368 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 368. The ordinance amends the zoning district created in 2001 for Uptown Hamel by removing "Planned Unit Development" from the district's title and by deleting reference to the single family transition area. The ordinance also removes the public design criteria relating to public improvements to be constructed within the area. District standards are being modified to increase the maximum building height and to allow higher densities for both single family and multi -family residential uses. The full text of Ordinance No. 368 is available for inspection at Medina city hall during regular business hours. Gr✓t �bl. Chad M.
