AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING ORDINANCE 487, 488, 501, 502, AND 524
BY ESTABLISHING CERTAIN PERMIT FEE SCHEDULES.
ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
ARE HEREBY REPEALED
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of Beaumont, California has
adopted the 1979 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, the 1978
Edition of the National Electrical Code, the 1979 Edition of the
Uniform Mechanical Code, the 1979 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing
Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Beaumont, California does
desire to establish fees to be collected for the issuance of
building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and grading permits
as follows:
SECTION 1: The following fee shall be collected prior
to the issuance of a Permit:
(A) Building and Grading Valuation Data Sheet, and
Fee Schedules, marked "Exhibit A" herewith made a part of this
Ordinance.
(B) Permit Fee Schedules amending Table 3A of the
Uniform Plumbing Code, marked "Exhibit B" herewith made a part of
this ordinance.
(C) Permit Fee's Schedules amending the 1978 edition
of the National Electrical Code marked "Exhibit C" herewith made a
part of this Ordinance.
(D) Permit Fee Schedules for Mobile Home and
Structures Outside of a Mobile Home Park, marked "Exhibit D" and
made a part of this Ordinance.
(E) Permit Fee Schedules for Mobile Home's inside a
Mobile Home Park, marked "Exhibit E" and made a part of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 2: In addition to the permit fees, the follow-
ing fee is to be collected prior to the issuance of a permit:
(A) Strong Motion Instrumentation Program (SMIP)
.007 percent per thousand dollars of valuation with a minimum of
fifty (.50) cents each permit. (S.B. 1374 Chapter 1152 ALQUIST)
SECTION 3: All fees and charges enumerated within this
Ordinance may be increased or decreased periodically by resolution
of the City Council.
SECTION 4: The intent of this ordinance is to protect
the public health, safety and welfare by establishing an updated
fee schedule in order to have inspection control. Ordinance No.
524 has been adopted without a fee schedule attached. In order to
maintain inspection control for mobilehomes it is necessary to
immediately adopt a fee schedule that will provide the City with
that ability. Additionally, other fees are upgraded to reflect

current economic costs for the City.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance is passed, adopted and
enacted, pursuant to Section 36934 of the California Government
Code as an urgency measure pursuant to the police power of the
City of Beaumont.
