SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF
FEBRUARY 15, 2017
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of February 15 , 2017 .
BACKGROUND:
On February 15 , 2017, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the February 15, 2017 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner-Haddad , Rosso , Vance, Vice-Chairman Barold y
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused: Commissioner-Chairman Georgina
2 . CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the January 18 ,
2017 meeting .
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS -None

4 . NEW BUSINESS
A. REVIEW OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AVAILABLE TO TEMPLE
CITY RESIDENTS
The Parks and Recreation Commission rece ived an overview of the various
public transportation programs including Dial-A-Ride , reduced fare bus pass
sales , recreation transit and bus shelter maintenan ce . The Commission
received and filed the report with no recommendations for c hanges or
enhancements to any of the programs .
B. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION (PAVILION) AT
TEMPLE CITY PARK ON SUNDAY , APRIL 16 , 2017 FOR AN EASTER
SUNRISE SERVICE AND CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER
The Commission approved both requests .
5 . MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for
February 2017 .
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Approval of the Commiss io n actions of February 15 , 2017 furthers the City's Strategic
Goal of Citizen Education and Communication .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-17 City Budget.
