SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 29, 2017
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Cynthia Sternquist called the Special Meeting to order at 7:04 a.m.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmember—Chavez, Man, Sternquist
ABSENT: Councilmember — Fish, Yu
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, Community Development
Director
Forbes, Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi, and
Senior
Community Preservation Officer Tran
Captain Jacob, Sergeant Miranda, Sergeant Hanson,
Deputy
Adams, Deputy Lam, Deputy Velazquez, and Deputy Zuniga
Mayor Pro Tem Man made a motion to
excuse
Councilmember Fish and Councilmember Yu for
cause.
Seconded by Councilmember Chavez.

A. OVERVIEW OF LASD ARSON AND EXPLOSIVES DETAIL
Sergeant John Hanson and Deputy Rick Velazquez gave an overview of the
LASD Arson and Explosives Detail.

A. QUALITY OF LIFE
Deputy Zuniga provided a brief overview of the number of sex offender
registrants, parolees, and probationers in the City.
B. OPERATIONS
Deputy Zuniga provided an update regarding arrests and operations in the
City.
C. CRIME TRENDS
Deputy Zuniga provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities
affecting Temple City.

Deputy Zuniga provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City.

G. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES
Deputy Zuniga provided an update on the special assignment team activities.
H. PUBLIC OUTREACH / EVENTS
Deputy Zuniga reported on the public outreach conducted by the special
assignment team.
I. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR APRIL 2017
Deputy Zuniga announced upcoming meetings and events that will be
conducted in the City.
