SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF MARCH 15,2017 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission actions from their meeting of March 15 , 2017. BACKGROUND: On March 15 , 2017, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting. ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the March 15 , 2017 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting: 1 . ROLL CALL : Present: Commissioner -Haddad , Rosso , Vance, Vice-Chairman Barold i, Chairman Georgina Absent: Commissioner -None Excused : Commissioner-None 2. CONSENT CALENDAR The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the February 15 , 2017 meeting . 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS -None City Council April 4, 2017 Page 2 of 2 4 . NEW BUSINESS A . CON SIDERAT IO N OF ESTABLISHMENT OF A TREE APPEAL FEE Th e Pa rks and Recreation Commission cons id ered establishment of a fee for appea ls to remo ve, or not remove , public trees. After discussion the Commission recommended the City Council establish a tree appeal fee , pu rs uan t to §3-4D-11 of the Temple City Municipal Code. The Commission recommended a fee of $260 , 50% cost re co very. The recommended fee will be co nsid ered by the City Council at an upcoming meeting as one of several p ropo sed amendments to the Master Fee Schedule . 5 . MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS A . The Commission received the Park s and Recreation Director's Report for March 2017. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS : Approval of the Co mm ission actions of March 15 , 2017 furthers the City's Strategic Goal of Citizen Education and Communication . FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on th e Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-17 City Budget.
