SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 17-5243 CONFIRMING MAYOR'S
APPOINTMENT OF COUNCILMEMBERS TO SERVE AS DELEGATES
AND ALTERNATES TO OTHER AGENCIES OR ORGANIZATIO NS
RECOMMENDATION:
Th e City Cou nci l is requ ested to adopt Reso l ut ion No . 17-52 43 (Attachment "A ")
confirming Mayor's appointment of Councilmembers to serve as delegates and
a lternates to other agencies or organizat ions.
BACKGROUND:
O n March 2 1, 20 17, th e City Co un cil reo rga nized a nd seated a new Mayor (Mayor
Cynt h ia Sternquist) a nd Mayor ProTem (Mayor ProTem William Man).
ANALYSIS:
Each year after the City Council reorganizes, and w ith City Council input, the Mayor
reviews and selects representative delegates and alternates to other governmental
agencies and/or organ izations . A listi ng of those orga n izations is attached as an exhibit
(Exh i bit 1) to the proposed reso l utio n . Regula r meeti ng days and times are indicated
for each organ iza tion , as well as those agencies that pay a stipend fo r meeting
attendance and have conflict of interest reporting requ irements .
Councilmembers serving as the delegate to these governmental agencie s and/or
organizations attend regularly scheduled meetings to discuss and make
recommendations regard ing iss ues that may affect ci t ies in the Los Angeles County .

CITY STRATEGIC GOALS :
Approva l of Mayor's appointment of Councilmembers representing C ity of Temp le C ity
at meetings of other governmental agencies or comm u n ity organizations will ensure
City's Strategic Goal of Good Governance .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have a f isc al impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2 0 16-17 C ity Budget.

RESOLUTION NO. 17-5243
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS CITY
COUNCIL COMMITTEES
WHEREAS , by virtue of their position as a City Councilmember, the Councilmembers
are eligible to serve on various committees;
WHEREAS, the Mayo r has requested and received information from various
Councilmembers on their interest in serving on various committees ;
WHEREAS, the Mayor has presented her recommendations for the various City Council
committee appointments and ,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed said recommendations .
NOW, THEREFORE , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE :
SECTION 1. The appointments contained on Exhibit "A" for the various City Council
committees are hereby made ; and ,
SECTION 2. Appointments are effective upon passage of this resolution and shall
continue unt il the next regularly scheduled selection of Mayor of the City of Temple City.
PASSED , APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 4th day of April 2017 .
