REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 15, 2017
CALL TO ORDER
Vice -Chairman Baroldi called the Parks and Recreation Commission Regular
Meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman
Avenue, Temple City.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Commissioner — Haddad, Rosso, Vance, Baroldi
ALSO PRESENT: Parks and Recreation Director Burroughs
Parks and Recreation Manager Lawson
ABSENT: Chairman Georgino
Vice -Chairman Baroldi moved to excuse Chairman Georgino for cause,
seconded by Commissioner Haddad and unanimously carried.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Vice -Chairman Baroldi led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA
Vice -Chairman Baroldi opened public comments.
Vice -Chairman Baroldi closed public comments.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Commissioner Rosso moved to approve the Consent Calendar, seconded by
Commissioner Haddad and unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:

A. REVIEW OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AVAILABLE TO TEMPLE
CITY RESIDENTS
Parks and Recreation Director Burroughs presented the staff report.
Vice -Chairman Baroldi opened public comments.
Joe Juarez. DAR member commented on a recent reservation and not
being picked up. He also suggested additional drivers would help improve
the service.
Jason Snow. Vice -President and Michelle Gamez Project Manager were
present. Ms. Gamez provided the Commission with information on shared
rides for the service.
Vice -Chairman Baroldi closed public comments.
Commissioner Rosso moved to receive and file Item A, seconded by
Commissioner Haddad and unanimously carried by a voice call vote.

B. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION AT TEMPLE
CITY PARK ON SUNDAY, APRIL 16, 2017 FOR AN EASTER SUNRISE
SERVICE AND CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER
Parks and Recreation Director Burroughs presented the staff report.
Vice -Chairman Baroldi opened public comments.
Vice -Chairman Baroldi closed public comments.
Commissioner Haddad moved to approve the request from Temple City
United Methodist Church for reserved use of the Performing Arts Pavilion
at Temple City Park on Sunday, April 16, 2017 for an Easter Sunrise
Service and fee waiver, seconded by Commissioner Vance and
unanimously carried by a voice call vote.

Parks and Recreation Director Burroughs thanked staff for their efforts on
recent special events. She provided a brief overview of City Council
actions.
11. COMMISSION ITEMS SEPARATE FROM THE REGULAR AGENDA
A. COMMISSIONER HADDAD thanked staff for their effort with the Dial -A -
Ride program and was encouraged by the lack of complaints from DAR
members.
B. COMMISSIONER ROSSO said she enjoyed the Dim Sum and Tea event.
C. COMMISSIONER VANCE stated she enjoyed the Lunar New Year event
on February 4.
D. VICE-CHAIRMAN BAROLDI thanked staff for the hard work on recent and
upcoming events.

12. ADJOURNMENT
The Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting was adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
to the Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting of Wednesday, March
15, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 5938 Kauffman Avenue.
