Mayor Cynthia Sternquist called the Special Meeting to order at 7:05 a.m. 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmember—Chavez, Man, Sternquist ABSENT: Councilmember— Fish. Yu ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, Community Development Director Forbes, Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi, and Senior Community Preservation Officer Tran Lieutenant Reyes, Sergeant Miranda, Deputy Adams, Deputy Lam, Deputy Velazquez, and Deputy Zuniga Councilmember Chavez made a motion to excuse Councilmember Fish and Councilmember Yu for cause. Seconded by Mayor Sternquist. 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS Jerry Jambazian, Temple City resident, inquired if the Golden Motel on Rosemead Blvd. is within Temple City boundaries. 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS — None 5. NEW BUSINESS — None 6. COMMUNICATIONS A. QUALITY OF LIFE Sergeant Miranda provided a brief overview of the number of sex offender registrants, parolees, and probationers in the City. B. OPERATIONS Sergeant Miranda provided an update regarding arrests and operations in the City. C. CRIME TRENDS Sergeant Miranda provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities affecting Temple City. D. NOTABLE ARRESTS City Council Meeting Minutes April 26, 2017 Page 2 of 2 Sergeant Miranda provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City. E. TRAFFIC ISSUES Sergeant Miranda provided an overview of traffic issues in the City. F. CRIME AND TRAFFIC STATISTICS Sergeant Miranda provided an overview of the crime and traffic statistics. G. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES Sergeant Miranda provided an update on the special assignment team activities. H. PUBLIC OUTREACH / EVENTS Sergeant Miranda reported on the public outreach conducted by the special assignment team. I. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR MAY 2017 Sergeant Miranda announced upcoming meetings and events that will be conducted in the City. 7.
