Dear Mr. Hall, The court date for the citation that was issued to you for unpermitted work at 1711-B Strand is Tuesday,April 16. Permit 13-0129 was issued March 1 for tearout of enclosed areas that had been built without a permit. Some enclosures have been removed but the site remains out of compliance due to an enclosure on the ground floor, northwest corner. Below is an email that was sent on March 19 regarding this. The attached document from John Kern, P.E.,was submitted by your staff to the city on April 10. If it is your intention to build an enclosure that meets the standards the engineer has determined, please apply for a building permit to do that work.Attached is a permit application. Pages 1 and 2 are required. The attached V Zone Certificate will be required following the completion of the work. If the existing enclosure will instead be removed, that work may be done under the tearout permit that was issued last month. It may be helpful if I know your intentions prior to this matter being considered by the judge next Tuesday. Please reply to this email or by telephone. Sincerely, Dianne K. Otto, CFM City of Tybee Island Planning & Zoning Manager phone 912.472.5031 fax 912.786.9539 From: Dianne Otto Sent: Tuesday, March 19, 2013 4:59 PM To: 'Joyce @cehallconstruction.com' Subject: 1711-B Strand - tearout- BP 13-0129 Joyce, Please provide this information to Gene Hall. In response to his request for an inspection, the building official visited 1711-B Strand today to confirm the tearout of the storage areas built without a permit. The enclosure around the area on the attached plan that is labeled "SERVICE YARD" has not been removed. It is at the upper left corner of the structure as shown on the plan. Removal is required and the work can be done under the existing permit 13-0129. The permit placard needs to be posted while the work is occurring. If a replacement placard is needed this office can provide it. Please call for another inspection when this tearout has been completed. 1 Dianne Otto From: Dianne Otto Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2013 9:23 AM To: 'Joyce Parker' Subject: RE: Strand Avenue; Tybee Island, GA Attachments: Strand Avenue.pdf Dear Joyce, I've printed the attachment and will give it to Ray.
