MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 28 , 2018
Present : Vice- Chair Faythe Ellis , Elizabeth Taylor, Diane Pansire, Roland Bassett, Barbara
Burgo , Peggy Jablonski and William Klein
Absent : Paul Ruchinskas and Sharon Marotti
Also Present : Executive Director of the Compact Mark Robinson, Natural Resource Director
Chris Miller, Assistant Town Administrator Donna Kalinick, and Housing Coordinator Jill
Scalise
Vice- Chair Faythe Ellis called the meeting to order at 4 : 45 pm
Recording or Taping Notification : "As required by the Open Meeting Law we are informing you that the Town will be
videotaping and/or audio taping this public meeting. In addition, if anyone else intends to either video or audio tape this
meeting they are required to inform the chair, " We request that all cell phones be turned off or to vibrate.
1 . New member introduction
Vice- Chair Faythe Ellis introduced Peggy Jablonski as the new representative for the
CPC . She has lived in Brewster full-time for 5 -years though has owned property here in
town for 20 years . Introductions were made around the room.
2 . Discussion and possible vote, including conditions , of the Open Space Committee ' s
request for $ 1 ,750 , 000 plus $ 35 ,000 for project related costs for purchase of 0 Long Pond
Road (Long Pond Woodlands Conservation area) for open space purposes .
Elizabeth Taylor gave an overview of the Open Space Committee ' s request for the
purchase of 0 Long Pond Road of about 42 acres for open space purposes . Purchase of
this property is expected to help protect the drinking water and the water quality at Long
Pond . Mark Robinson who is an advisor to the Town ' s Open Space Committee stated
that the grant process has just opened up and some grants are not due until the fall or next
January . There are a number of grants that may be available such as the Land Grant and
the Water Protection grant. This land abuts Long Pond and has been on the Open Space
Committee ' s list for acquisition for many years . Natural Resources is in favor of this
acquisition. The full purchase price is requested but will be reduced by any grant money
received . There are no structures on the land . There are existing trails on this property, it

6 . Vote to approve minutes of March 21 , 2018 meeting .
There was a brief review of the meeting minutes of March 21 , 2018 .
Motion made by Roland Bassett to approve the March 21 , 2018 meeting minutes as
presented . Elizabeth Taylor seconded .
VOTE : 7-0-0
7 . Next meeting : April 11 , 2018 @ 4 : 45 p .m . at Town Hall
The next meeting will take place on April 11 , 2018 at 4 : 45 pm . Potential agenda items
are the Historic award letter and an update on the Millstone Road project .
Motion made by Roland Bassett to adjourn the meeting at 5 : 27pm . Elizabeth Taylor
seconded.
