' The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a Special Meeting at 11330 Bullis �
Road on the above date at 9:30 a.m. .
� MayorRichards presiding. �
r Councilmen -Byrd, Rea, Reyes, Sanchez, and Richards answered the rolf call for
� f all agencies. ,
` Also present were City Manager Davis, Assistant City Attorney Calsada and City
Clerk Hooper. �
� City Clerk Hooper announced that the agenda had been posted in accordance
with the Brown Act.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Alf matters listed on the Consent Calendar will be acted upon by one motion
affirming the action recommended on the agerrda. There will be no separate
. discussion on these items prior to voting unless members of the Council or staff
request specific items be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate `

City Manager Da'vis asked for Items 4, 10 and 11 be pulled for discussion.
It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Councilman Byrd to adopt:

Item #9: Youth Baseball Carnival �
Council authorized' a professional carnival, located on Caesar Chavez Lane
adjacent to Lynwood Park with perFormance dates April 12 through April 15�
Fees to the City will be directed to Lynwood Youth Sports Association for the
inskallation of outfield fences on Baseball diamond #3.

❖ � Customer Service
Human Resources Manager Gail Black presented Councii with several
selections of badges to be worn by City employees. Councif selected two and .
asked staff to bring them back with suggested recommendations from
CounciL
%3 Recreation
. Mark Flores and Perry Brent of the Recreatiun Department gave Council an
outline and status report of the Dove Grant P�ogram. Stated the city was
awarded $600,000 over a three-year period. Stated the school district has a
subordinate roll in the program. Mayor Richards asked that Recreation bring
back to Council a breakdown of the cost and implementation schedule. .

Lynwood Concerts:
•3 Counciiman Sanchez asked for acts that r�flect the entire community
; ❖ Mayor Richards suggested mailing complementary tickets on a first come
first serve basis
•:• Also suggested discount coupons or'/z price tickets
•:• Discussed distribution of tickets
, *:• Discussed sponsors and changing headliners
Item #10: Lvnwood Concert Series
After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Sanchez, seconded � by
Councilman Byrd to adopt:

AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND, FIVE
4, -- HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND
BALANCE FOR THE 2000-01 FISCAL YEAR FOR FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES

receive and file the information and bring this Item back to the meeting on March,
26, 2001 for further consideration.

to recess to a Joint Closed Session with the Redevelopment Agency at 10:50
