MAY 14, 2001
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a Special Meeting at 11330 Bullis
Road on the above date at 9:25 a.m.

Mayor Richards was absent. _ •
Also present were Assistant City Manager Hempe, Assistant City Attorney March, �
� City Clerk Hooper and City Treasurer Pygatt.
City Clerk Hooper announced that the agenda had been posted in acco�dance
with the Brown Act.

' Vehicles for sale:-
• Assistant City Attomey March gave Council a brief presentation on the vehicles for
� sale.
. Councilmen Reyes stated the City has a two (2) hour parking limit restriction but.it
also needs to be more enforced. .
Mayor Pro Tem Sanchez stated he wouid like to raise the permit fees, he also
questioned if there was a limit on the permit fees.
� Councilmen Reyes discussed painting the business street curbs green to help limit
the parking because a lot of businesses are losing business. Would' like to also
increase the citation fees.
Assistant City Manager Hempe stated she wouid meet with the City Attomey on .
this issue's.
�` Councilman �Byrd stated he believes there is not enough enforcement in the City.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
Status Report on the Energy Crisis — Impact on the City Services;
Direcfor of Public Works Joseph Wang gave a brief presentation on the Energy
Crisis Status Report.
Councilman. Reyes questioned if there is any way that we could be notify when
the�e will be a blackout. Also stated he would like to have an update on how many
people are in life support in case of a blackout.

SERVICE PROGRAM
The program has enab�ed the City of Lynwood to feed breakfast and lunch to a •
daily average of three hundred (300) child�en from Monday thru Friday during the
, Summer months or a total of ten thousand (10;000) meals.
, It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried-to "
, approve the agreement between the Lynwood Unified School District and the City
of Lynwood.
