The City Council ofthe City of Lynwood met in a Special Meeting at 11330 Bullis �
Road on the above date at 10:00 a.m.
Mayor Richards presiding. - , `

� I Councilmen Byrd, Rea, Reyes, Sanchez, and Richards answered roll call. `
Also present were City Manager Davis. City Attorney Thever; and City Clerk
Hooper.
City Treasurer Pygatt was absent.
City Clerk Hooper announced that the agenda had been posted in accordance

Director of Envi�onmental Services Joseph Wang introduced Assistant Di�ector
Yadi Farhadi to give a presentation on the Lang Beach Boulevard Wall Project.
� Mayor Richards questioned Project Manager Adriana Richards on the Clean-up
Program a�d asked how are the businesses responding to this Program.
Project Manager Adriana Richards stated the Clean-up Program is coming along
fine, and the businesses are offering a lot of give away mercfiandise for the
Clean-up Expo Program.
Mayor Richards stated he would like to have a special colored water bill sent out
for the month of August to all Lynwood residents that can be used as a ticket to
enter the Clean-up Expo.
Project'Manager Adriana Richards stated she would work on the water bills and
flyers.
Assistant Director Yadi Farhadi gave a brief presentation on the Long Beach

Boulevard Wal� Project, and handed out examples of the wall material and wall
f : designs.

— Councilman Byrd left at 10:20 a.m. .
Mayor Richards stated he would like Option #2 — Split Face Black with integraF
color, and he would also Jike to add columns.
It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Sanchez to �
approve Informal Bidding for multiple contractors.

Councilman Reyes stated he would not like to haye U.S.A. Buiiders involved'in
the Informal Bidding of the Long Beach Boulevard Wail Project.
Assistant City Manager Lorry Hempe stated staff would start notifying all of the -„
business owners, in person, phone, and by letter regarding_the Long Beach ; i
Boulevard Wall Project: Also stated that the completion day would be September i
7, 2001. _—�
Mayor Richards stated he would like to have the notice letter mailed, posted, and
published. Thanked staff for their Long Beach WaII Project.
Councilman Reyes stated he would like to thank Director of Environmental
Services Joseph Wang and Assistant Director of E'ublic Works/Engineer Yadi
Farhadi for their outstanding work.
1t was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Councilman Rea to approve
$250,000.00 for the Long Beach Boulevard Wall Project, and also directed the
City Manager to identify appropriate fundings.
