April 25, 2013
City Council Meeting
• Commercial Landscapers need to take yard debris to the city facility and
not leave yard waste curb side. The contract does not require WastePro
to pick up commercially generated yard waste. The city facility will
accept yard waste from licensed commercial landscapers. A valid copy
of a City of Tybee Business License is required.
• Residents /residential property owners are encouraged to start tying up
yard debris in bundles which is a contract requirement. This is to facilitate
efficient and cleaner site collection. The contract allows 3-foot long
bundles with a volume up to 5 cubic yards per week. Yard debris is picked
up every Wednesday and missed piles are collected on Saturdays.
• Residents/residential property owners who want the following large bulky
items picked up curb side by WastePro are encouraged to use Track EZ on
line:
o Porcelain Items such as toilets and sinks
o White goods such as stoves and refrigerators
o Furniture such as sofas and mattresses
WastePro will pick up the item within 7 days. WastePro's goal is to pick up
the item before the next Monday of the day notified. Residents/residential
property owners have the option of bringing such items to the city DPW
facility with proof of residency.
• Residents/residential property owners may place construction debris in the
solid waste cart for pick up on garbage day. WastePro will only pick up
construction debris at a residence if it fits inside the residence's cart with
the lid closed. However, if the cart is too heavy due to tiles and/or bricks;
WastePro cannot empty the cart and will not collect the items. If the
home improvement project does not require an on-site dumpster,
residents/residential property owners may bring their construction debris to
the DPW facility for disposal with proof of residency.
• Starting the week of April 29, 2013, WastePro will pick up all recycles in
WastePro trucks labeled as a recycle trucks.
