REGULAR MEETING JANUARY ~2, 1979
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a regu-
lar session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on
above dste at 7:30 p.m.
Mayor Higgins in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Morris, Rowe and Higgins
answeresd the roll call.
Also present were City Attorney Murphy and City Manager
Valliere.
It wad moved by Councilman Green, seconded by Council-
man Byork, and carried that minutes of the adjourned
regular meeting and regular meeting of December 19,
1978 be approved as written.
MANAGEMENT STUDIES
The C~,ty Manager reported that a new amplifier and
phasiMg system are needed for the public address system
in thQ Council Chambers and recommended purchase of
Model MFA-100 Solid State Public Address System from
Radio Shack for $199.95. It was moved by Councilman
Green, seconded by Mayor Higgins, that Council concur in
the recommendation.

for substituting for Chief Johnsonm

appt'd to be appointed to fill the unexpired term of Robert
HCDAB Downs on the Housing and Community Development Ad-
visory Board.

Item 4 pertaining to Redevelopment Survey Area Noo 3 was
added to the agendao The Gity Attorney stated that a
resolution by Council is, required to designate the
property as a survey areae
Councilman Morris requested that Council adopt a reso-
lution urging the Legislature to return an additional
one cent of sales tax to the citieso He further re-
quested that copies of the resolution be sent to the
State Assemblyman and State Senatoro Councilman Rowe
concurred with Councilman Morriso The City Manager
stated that the City currently receives $900,000 per
year from the State based on return of one cent of sales
taxo Councilman Byork noted that the League of Cali-
fornia Cities is studying the mattero
The Mayor requested that a resolution be prepared for
the outgoing General Manager of County Sanitation
