REGULAR MEETING APRIL ~, 179
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a
regular session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road,
on above date at 7:30 p.m.
Mayor Morris in the chair.
Councilmen Byork, Green, Higgins, Rowe, and Morris
answered the roll call.
Also present were City Attorney Murphy and City Mana~
ger Valliere.
It was moved by Councilman Higgins, seconded by Council-
man Byork, and carried, that minutes of adjourned regu®
lar meeting of March 20, 1979 and regular meeting of
Marsh 20, 1979 be approved as written.
PROCLAMATION
Public The Mayor read a Proclamation designating the week of
Schools Wk April 23 - 27, 1979, as "PUBLIC SCHOOL WEEK." It was
moved by Councilman Byork, seconded by Councilman Higgins,
and carried, that the proclamation be adopted.
Mr. Walter A. Schneider, Worhipful Master, Lynwood
Masonic Lodge, accepted the proclamation.
PUBLIC HEARING
Public The Mayor announced that the time had arrived to cons

Snavely stated that there is a possibility the City will
lose state funding unless land is acquired for park develop

The Mayor inquired if anyone present wished to speak in
opposition to the proposed construction of a public
neighborhood park.
R. Evans Mrs, Rose Evans, 11132 Wright Road9 spoke in oppositivri
in oppositgn to the proposed construction of a pub5.ic neighborhood
park on the grounds that she has owned the property at
3173-77 E1 Segundo Boulevard since 19~Os; that she plans
to build on the property; and that she disagrees with the
appraisal of fair market value of the property.
The City Attorney advised Mrs. Evans that she wil'1 have
an opportunity to present evidence to the court re`la~
tive to fair market value of her property.

Mr. George Fairlie, 11194 Nevada Avenue, speaking as G. Fairlie

Harvest A report on bids received for Landscape and Sprinkler
Moan System on Long Beach Boulevard, Imperial Highway and
Lands. Century Boulevard, Gas Tax Project #6-~l'50®~81, was pre®
awarded rented by the City Manager with the recommendation that

Cabs The City Manager reported on bids received for insurance

awarded $300,000 stop loss and total liability coverage of

Insurance for $60,389. The City Manager noted that
should the City cancel the current Cal®Surance policy,

CITY COUNCIL AGENDA
Councilman Green discussed a recent groundbreaking for a
new housing project in the City.
Councilman Higgins recommended that oleanders be removed
from the grounds of Lynwood Services Corporation. Council
man Higgins discussed the problems created by misinfor-
mation given on a recent television program regarding
purse-snatching on Imperial Highway. The Mayor ad-
vised that the problem is being handled by the Los
Angeles Police Department in cooperation with the Lynwood
Sheriff's Station.
