Richman, City Treasurer, request clarifi- cation of the application and recommended that the possibility of a franchise for taxicab service in this City be investigated. RESOLUTION N0. 79-47 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE ~'""' CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ORDERING VACATION j OF PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY BEING A PORTION OF 107th PLACE, FORMERLY FIRST STREET." was presented. It was moved by Councilman Higgins, seconded by Councilman Green, and carried, that Resolution No. 79-47 be adopted. Roll Call: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Higgins, Rowe, Morris. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Mayor announced that the time had arrived for public hearing to ascertain whether nuisances are being maintained on property commonly known as 3264 Fernwood Avenue. The City Manager presented a report reviewing the action taken by the Building Department in attempting to have removed from the subject premises an overgrowth of dry, combustible weeds. The Mayor inquired if anyone present wished to speak in favor of the proposed abatement. Fire Chief Ronald Lathrope, having been sworn, identi- fied the property and called attention to photographs on display stating that with the exception of the house having been boarded up within the last two weeks by the State of California, the photographs accurate- ly describe and depict the condition of the premises and in his professional opinion, they constitute a nuisance within the meaning of the Lynwood City Code. The photographs of property at 3264 Fernwood Avenue, were made a part of the record and marked Exhibit A. The Mayor inquired if anyone else wished to speak in favor of the proposed abatement.
