COUNCIL AGENDA Councilman Byork requested the City Manager to report on recent meetings held at the Courthouse relative to I-105 Freeway. The City Manager stated that the Court expressed concern about the following: (1) Lifting of the injunction. The City Manager stated that everyone concerned was in agreement on the Con- sent Decree and it is expected that it will be presented to Judge Pregerson and signed within the next two weeks; (?) Demolition of the seven structures in the Freeway Corridor. Caltrans had advised the City that the structures would be demolished by September 16; however, no action has been taken to date. Also, agreement has been reached on 12 additional structures to be demolished. The City Manager will be meeting with the State Department of Housing by the end of the week; (3) Sheriff's patrol of the Freeway Corridor. The City executed an agreement with the State Department of Transportation on September 11, 1979 which provided for two-car, 24-hour protection of the freeway corridor at a cost of $535,000. Subsequently, the Chief Counsel's office, Sacramento, has indicated that the cost is too high and that they recommend a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. patrol of corridor. The City Manager will meet with Caltrans and General Services Administration at the end of the week to restate the importance of law enforcment in the freeway corridor. A contract for $25,000 has been submitted by the State Department of Transportation for patrol of the '~" freeway corridor for the interim period of September ~ 14, lg7g to October 12, 1979. It was moved by Councilman Rowe, seconded by Council- man Byork, and carried, that the meeting be adjourned to October 2, 1979 at 10 a.m. ~,~ /\ ~- l~M ~ e .y Clerk, City ~ L ,,hwood APPROVED OCTOBER 2, lg7g Mayor, C y of Lynwood Coun.
