AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI AMENDING CHAPTER 18
(MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS AND OFFENSES) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION, 18-176, CREATING A CODE VIOLATION FOR
ASSAULTING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Code is hereby amended by adding one Section to Chapter
18 to read as follows:

CHAPTER 18
MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS AND OFFENSES
Section 18-176 Assaultina a Law Enforcement Officer
1.A person commits the crime of assault of a law enforcement officer if:
(a)Such person recklessly causes physical iniury to a law enforcement officer;
(b) Such person purposely places a law enforcement officer in apprehension of immediate
physical iniurv:
(c)Such person knowingly causes or attempts to cause physical contact with a law enforcement
officer without the consent of the law enforcement officer.
2.Assault of a law enforcement officer is a code violation.
Section 2. This ordinance will be in full force and effect from and after the date
of this passage and approval.
