A regular meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of
Gulf Stream, Florida, was held at the Town Hall of said Town on the
18th day of January, A. D. 1930.
Commissioners DeParlier, Adams and Hoss were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Tax Assessor Hoss presented to the Commission the 1930 Tax
Roll for its consideration. The Commission carefully considered said
Tax Roll and the assessments of the property contained thereon for
taxation. The Tax Roll was not altered or changed from the form in
width it was submitted to the Commission.
A'resolution was offered as follows: "Be it resolved that
the 1930 Tax Roll, as this day submitted to the Town Commission of the
Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, be, and the sane is hereby accepted and
adopted as the 1930 Ta;: Roll for the Town: of Gulf Stream, Florida.
"Be it further resolved that said Tax Roll be accepted as
compiled slid presented by the Tax Assessor a.d that the valuations,
as placed on the properties, stand as they are now fixed."
The above and foregoing resolution was unanimously
adopted upon a roll call of the Commissioners.
It was called to the attei.tion of the Commission, that in
Section 7, rticle 8 of the Charter Act of the Tow;i of Gulf Stream,
required a notice to be published to the effect that the Commission
would sit as a Body of Equalizers between the 10th day of �,ebrur)ry and
the 20th day of February, 1930. The Town C1er1. was directed to pre-
pare a suitable notice and to post a copy of the same at the door of
the Town Hall, notifying the public that the Town Commission would
sit as a Board of Equalization at 7:30 P. 14. February 10th, 1930, and would
adjourn from night to night until February 20th, 1930, as required by
the Charter act.
It was brought to the attention of the Commission that the
Code of Ordinances, prepared by Attorney Byrd, was ready for consider-
ation and first reading.
The following Ordinances, to wit:
"CODE OF GE1MRA1 ORDINANCES OF THE
TWIN OF GUFF STREAM, FLORIDA."
was read in full by the Clerk.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the foregoing
reading and introduction of said ordinance was accepted by the Town
Commission and the Code was turned over to the Clerk to be held by him
until the next regular meeting of the Commission, at which time the
ordinance would be taken up and placed on its secondreading and final
passage.
Mayor DeParlier requested the Commission to file with the
Town Clerk a statement of the necessary funds to be raised by taxation
for the year 1930 in order that a proper milleage could be levied at the
meeting of the Commission in Match.
The following resolution was offered for. adoption,to -wit:
"Whereas, the Gulf Stream Golf Club, Inc., has loaned and advanced the
Town of Gulf Stream Seven hundred twenty -five ($725.00) Dollars for the
purpose of obtaining a new Charter Act for said Town, also the sum of
One hundred seventy -five ($175.00) Dollars for the purpose of obtaining
a survey and nap of said Tom and the sum of Two hundred (200.00) Dollars
for the payment of legal services for obtaining; a Code of Ordinances and
other legal services connected with the tax rolls for said Town.
"Idcw, Therefore, be it resolved, by the Town Commission,
that tovm warrants or notes be drawn, executed and delivered by the
Mayor and Clerk to the Gulf Stream Golf Club, Inc., in the amount of
One Thousand one hundred ($1100.00) Dollars, said warrants or notes to
be payable December 1, 1930, and to bear interest at the rate of 6%
from date.
"Be it further resolved that a special tax be levied for
the purpose of paying said warrants and interest."
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the above and
foregoing resolution was unanimously adopted.
There being no further business to come before the Tovm1
Commission, they were regularly adjourned.
