AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, through its Hometown Indiana Grant Program, has grant funding available for historic preservation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond through its Parks and Recreation Department, wishes to restore the Charles House Carriage Building; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to apply for grant funding to assist with the costs associated with putting a new slate roof on the carriage Building.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Natural Resources, through its Hometown Indiana
grant Program; in order to help finance the costs associated with restoring the
Carriage Building located in Glen Miller Park.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount
up to Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($7,700.00).
Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for the
restoration of the Charles House Carriage Building.
The City of Richmond shall appropriate the following as the required match
for the receipt of said grant:
$3,960 from donated labor of the Richmond Park Department
$3,740 in material and supplies
Passed and adopted this 1st day of June, 1998, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
