IN THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF
BEECHWOOD AVENUE BETWEEN LONG BEACH BOULEVARD
AND CALIFORNIA AVENUE BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CURBS, GUTTERS, DRIVEWAYS, AND SIDEWALKS, AND
THE REMOVAL OF EXISTING PARKWAYS, DR NEWAYS,
AND PORTIONS OF SIDEWALKS, INCLUDING ALL INCI-
D�NTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE �niORK AND DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO GNE NOTICE INVITING BIDS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood
as f'ollows :
Section 1: In the opinion of said City Council the public
interest and convenience require, and said City Council having acquired
jurisdiction so to d.o, the following work or improvement is hereby
ordered to be done, to wit:
The removal of certain existing improvements including
parkways, driveways, curbs, and portions of sidewalks, and the con-
struction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete gutters, and
cement eonerete driveways and sidewalks, includ.ing all incid.ental
and appurtenant work in certain portions of Beechwood. Avenue lying
between the easterly line of Lono Beach Boulevard and the center line
of California Avenue, including portions of intersecting streets, as
more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No 261.8
Section 2: A11 of' the work or improvement aforesaid. shall
be done as contemplated in Resolution of Intention No 2618 of the
City Council of said City, and to Plan No 1955-C-3 to which reference
is hereby mad.e for further particulars,
Section 3: Said proposed work or improvement, in the opinion
of' said City Council, is of' more than local or ordinary public benefit
and said City Council hereby determines and declares that the district
to be benefited by said work and. improvement, and to be assessed. to
pay the entire costs and expenses thereof is particularly described in
Resolution of Intention No 2618 Reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention and. to Plan No 1955-C-4 for further particu-
lars as to the extent of the assessment district.
Section 4: The proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement shall be had and taken under an Act of the Legislature
of the State of California d.esignated as the Streets and Highways
Code, Div:�sion 7, and cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and
amendments thereto.
Section 5: The City Council hereby determines and. declares
that serial bonds shall be issued in the form and manner provided in
said aforementioned Act, bear5_ng interest at the rate of six (6) per
centum pe.r annum to represent each assessment of twenty-five ($25.00)
dollars o:r over, remaining unpaid for thirty days after the d.ate of
warrant. Said. serial bonds shall extend over a period end.ing nine
years from the second. day of January next succeeding the next October
ljth following their date. Said bonds and interest thereon shall be
paid at the office of the City Treasurer of said City and shall be
disbursed by him, all as provided in said Act.
Section 6: The City Clerk shall post and cause to be
published. a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the
above described. work or improvement in the time, form, and manner
required by law.
