IN THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF
BEECHWOOD AVENUE BETWEEN LONG BEACH BOULEVARD
AND CALIFORNIA AVENUE BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CURBS, GUTTERS, DRIVEWAYS, AND SIDEWALKS, AND
THE REMOVAL OF EXISTING DRIVEWAYS, PARKWAYS,
AND PORTIONS OF SIDEWALKS, INCLUDING ALL INCI-
DENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
RESOLUTION OVERRULING PRO`I`ESTS AND DETERMINING
THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HAS AC�UIRED JURISDICTION
TO ORDER THE PROPOSED WORK OR IMPROVEMENT.
WI�REAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did on
the 18th day of October, 1955 adopt its Resolution of Intention No.
2618 ordering the improvement of Beechwood Avenue between Long Beach
Boulevard. and California Avenue by the construction of curbs, gutters,
driveways, and sidewalks, and the removal of existing parkways, drive-
ways, and portions of sidewalks, including all incidental and appur-
tenant work, and
WHEREAS, Tuesday, the 15th d.ay of November, Z955 at the
hour of' 8:00 p.m, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said
City of Lynwood was the time �.nd place set in said Resolution of
Intention when and where any objections to the proposed work or im-
provement, or to the extent of' the district to be assessed, or to
the grades to which the work was proposed to be done, would be heard
by said City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of said City has heretofore pre-
sented and filed an affidavit of publication of said. Resolution of
intention, showing that the same was published zecording to law; and
WHEREAS, said. City Clerk has also presented and filed his
affidavit of mailing notices of the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention in the t�me, form, and manner, and to the persons, all as
provided by an Act of' the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, and cited.
as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and. amendments thereto; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer-Superintendent of Streets has
heretofore presented and filed an affidavit showing that notices of
the passage of said Resolution of Intention have been posted in the
manner provided by said Act; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing held on the 15th d.ay of November,
1955 no protests were filed against any of the things proposed to
be done under Resolution of Intention No 2618
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood that the said City Council has acquired.full juris-
diction to order the proposed work or improvement.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of November, 19�5.
