RESOLUTION OF INTENTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF PENDLETON AVENUE
BETWEEN COLYER AVENUE AND ELM AVENUE BY THE
CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALKS,
INCLUDING ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Division 4 of the
Streets and Highways Code, cited as the "Special Assessment Investi-
�ation Limitation and Ma,jority Protest Act of 1931," the City Council
of the City of Lynwood has determined that the improvement of Pend.leton
Avenue between Colyer Avenue and. Elm Avenue as proposed in Resolution
No. 2615 of said City is feasible, and that the public interest,
convenience, and necessity require the improvement substantially as
set forth in said report, and
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that the lands to be
assessed will be able to stand the burden of the proposed assessment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood as follows:
Section 1: That in the opinion of the �ity Council of the
City of Lynwood the public interest and convenience require and it is
the intention of said City Council to order the following work or
improvement to be done, to wit:
The necessary grading and construction of cement concrete
sidewalks, including all incidental and appurtenant work in certain
portions c�f Pendleton Avenue lying between the center line of Colyer
Avenue and the center line of Elm Avenue and its northerly prolonga-
tion, as said Elm Avenue exists southerly of Pendleton Avenue,
inc�uding portions of intersecting streets.
All of said work or improvement shall be performed in the
public ways and between the limits hereinbefore designated. except
where the plans indicate that said work shall be omitted.
That all of the work�or improvement af'oresaid shall be done
and performed in accordance with and to the grades shown on Plans and
Specifications No 1955-F-3 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City. Said plans are hereby referred to for a full and complete
description of said propowed work and for the grades to which
the work is to be done and said plans and specifications are hy
reference made a part hereof a.nd shall govern for all details of the
proposed work.
That the total estimated cost of said work or improvement
is the sum of Three Thousand Two Hundred. Two and No/100ths Dollars
($3,202.00).
That said contemplated work is of general public benefit and
the said City Council hereby determines that thirty-three and one-third per
cent(33 1/3� of the cost of said work or improvement shall be paid from
the gener°al fund of said City,for lots having side frontage on
Pendletor� Avenue only.
Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement, in
the opinion of sa.id. City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and said City Council hereby determines and declares
that the district to be benefited by said work or improvement, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and. expenses of �uch work or improvemen�
is shown on Plan No Z955-F-4 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City, to which referenc� is her�by made fer � full and com-
plete description of the assessment district.
Section 3: The City Council hereby determines and declares
that serial bond.s shall be issued in the manner and form provid.ed. in
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code cited as the "Improvement
Act of 1G11," as amended, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent
per annum to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00)
or over remaining unpaid for thirty days after the d.ate of recordation
of the warrant; said serial bonds ahall extend over a period ending
nine years from the second day of January next succeed.ing the next
October fifteenth following their date. Said bond.s and. interest
thereon shall be paid at the office of the City Treasurer and. the same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the said "Improvement
Ac t of 1911, " as amend.ed..

Section 4: Notice is hereby given �h�t the provisions of
that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California des�g—
nated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 4, cited as the
"Special Assessment Investigation Limitation and Majority Protest Act
of 1931," as amended, have heretofore been fully complied with and
all the reports required under the provisions of said Act are on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said City, open to public inspection,
and may there be examined by all interested persons.
Section 5: The proceed.ings for the aforesaid work or
improvement shall be taken under an Act of the Le�i��ature of the
State of California d.esignated as the Streets and Highways Code,
Division 7, cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments
thereto.
Section 6: The City Engineer is hereby directed to make a
diagram of the property affected or benefited by said proposed work
or improvement as described herein and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses of said work, showing each separate lot, piece, or pareel
of land and the dimensions of each such lot, piece, or pa.rcel of land
and the relative location of the same to the work or improvement pro-
posed to �e done, all within the limits of said assessment district.
Section 7: Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the
20th day �f December, Z955 at the hour of 8:00 otclock p.m., at the
Council Chambers in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of
Lynwood, and an� all persons having any ob�ections or protests to said
proposed work or improvement, or to the extent of the d.istrict to be
assessed., or to the grades to which the work is proposed to be done,
may appea.r before said City Council and show cause why said proposed.

Section 8: The City Engineer, who is the Superintend.ent of
Streets, is hereby directed to post notices of the passage of this
Resolutiori in the time, form, and manner required by law.

Section 9: The City Clerk shall certify to the passa.ge
of this Resolution by the City Council of said. City of Lynwood and.
cause the same to be published tw�ce in the Lynwood Press, a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby designated
by said City Council for the purposes aforesaid. Said Clerk is also
directed to mail notices of the adoption of this Resolution of
Intention in the time, form, and manner, and to the persons, all
as provided. in said "Improvement Act of 1911," as amended.
