HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 2003-01-15 - CC_sp �Q� LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING _ JANUARY 15, 2003 The City Council of the City, of Lynwood met in a Special Meeting in the Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 6:40 p.m. Mayor Pedroza presiding. '�i Councilman Byrd, Reyes, Richazds, Rodriguez and Pedroza answered the joint roll call ' � for all agencies. Also present were City Manager Gonzales, City Attorney Montgomery, City Clerk Hooper and City Treasurer Pygatt. City Clerk Andrea Hooper announced that the agenda had been duly posted in accordance with the Brown Act. PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (Regarding Agenda Items Only) NONE PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (all agencies) I NONE Mayor Pedroza recessed to Lynwood Redevelopment Agency, at 6:43 p.m. It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried. Council reconvened at 6:45 p.m. � Item #5: FOUR-WAY STOP [NTERSECTION AT FERNWOOD AVENUE AND GERTRUDE AVENUE It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Rodriguez to adopt the Resolution. RESOLUTION NO. 2003.005 ENTITLED• "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF FERNWOOD AVENUE AND GERTRUDE AVENUE INTERSECTION AS A FOUR-WAY STOP INTERSECTION" ROLL CALL: , - AYES: COUNCILMAN BYRD, REyES, RICHARDS, RODRIGUEZ, AND PEDROZA NOES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ' ABSENT: NONE Mayor Pedroza stated that he is glad that a four-way in[ersection is being installed at ` these intersections, and thanked City staff for their great work. � � City Manager Gonzales requested that Council incorporate the staff report relative to the Govemor's Proposed budget on tonight's agenda and adopt the Resolution. It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Councilman Byrd to add the Subsequent Need Item. RESOLUTION NO. 2003.006 ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD URGING THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE TO REJECT THE GOVERNOR'S � PROPOSED SHIFT OF LOCAL VLF REVENUES AND TO HONOR THE 1998 COMMITMENT TO RESTORE THE VLF" -- ROLL CALL: AYES: COUNCILMAN BYRD, REYES, RICHARDS, RODRIGUEZ, AND PEDROZA � NOES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: NONE • CLO D SE SESSION Interim City Attomey Montgomery stated, with respect to every item of business to be discussed in joint Closed Session Pursuant to Section 54956.8: Item #6: CLOSED SESSION ITEMS: A. CONFERENCE WITH REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATOR Property: 11555 Wright Road (Ham Park) Negotiating parties: City of Lynwood and Lynwood Unified School District Under negotiation: price and terms It was moved by Councilman Reyes, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Rodriguez and carried to recess to Close Session at 6:50 p.m. Council reconvened at 7:33 p.m. City Attorney Montgomery stated Council met on the aforementioned matters and stated on: Item #6: CLOSED SESSION ITEMS: City Attorney Montgomery reported that this Closed Session item was discussed jointly with L.R.A. Closed Session Item #4. A. Mayor Pedroza announced that he has instructed staff to coordinate a well-organized program to celebrate Black History Month.
