Home My Public Portal About050-1998 - General Ordinance - Amends Chapter 74 of the City Code (Parking)ORDINANCE NO. 50-1998 A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 74 OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND CODE WHEREAS, Chapter 74 of the City of Richmond Code regulates parking within the City of Richmond; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to make certain changes to said Chapter. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana as follows: 1. Section 74.21 of the City of Richmond Code shall be amended to read: No vehicle, with or without motive power, including but not limited to mobile campers, boats, motorcycles, mopeds, trailers, wagons, or any vehicle designed for the conveyance of persons, property, or animals, shall be parked on a City street or City right of way for more than 72 continuous hours. Vehicles must be moved a minimum of 500 feet before being returned. An enforcement officer shall, in a prominent place, tag vehicles in violation of this ordinance. This tag shall include the date and time of the tagging and the tagging officer’s badge number. This will serve as notification that the vehicle is considered abandoned and must be moved within 72 hours. If a vehicle is not moved pursuant to the tag, the owner of the vehicle shall be fined $25.00 plus be responsible for the cost of towing and impounding the vehicle. 2. Section 74.26(a)(4) shall be amended by striking the remainder of the current sentence after the word shelter. 3. The first sentence of Section 74.47(g) shall be amended to read as follows: Any annual or monthly parking pass issued pursuant to this chapter must be displayed in the front windshield of the vehicle when parking in any off street parking facility.
