RESOLUTION OF ZNTENTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
• � IMPROVEMENT OF BEECHWOOD AVENUE BETWEEN LONG
BEACH BOULEVARD AND C�LIFORNIA �VENUE BY THE
CONSTRUCTION OF CURBS, GUTTERS, DRNEWAYS, AND
SIDEWALKS, AND THE REMOVAL OF EXISTING PARKWAYS,
DRIVEWAYS, AND PORTIONS OF SIDEWALKS, INCLUDING
ALL INCIDENTAL AND �PPURTENANT WORK.
' WHERE�IS, pursuant to the provisions of Division 4 of the
', Streets and Highways Code, cited as the 11 Special Assessment Investi-
gation Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931,"'the City Council
of the Clty of Lynwood has determined that the improvement of Beechwood
Avenue between Long Beach Boulevard and California Avenue as proposed
in Resolution No. 2609 of said City is feasible, and that the public
3nterest, convenience, and necessity require the improvement sub-
stantially as set forth in said report, and •
WHEREAS, said City Couneil has found that the land.s to be
assessed will be able to stand the burden of the proposed assessment,
,. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the

Section 1: That in the opinion of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood the public interest and convenience require and it is
the intention of said City Council to order �he following work or
improvement, to be done, to-wit:
The removal of certain existing improvements iricluding
, parkways, driveways, curbs, and portions of sidewalks, and the con-
_ .struction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete gutters, and
cement eonerete driveways and sidewalks, including all incidental and
' appurtenant work in certain portions of Beechwood Avenue lying between
the easterly line of Long Beach Boulevard a,nd the center line of
California Avenue, including portions of lntersecting streets.
All of said work or improvement shall be performed in the
public ways and between the limits hereinbefore des3gnated except
where the plans indicate that said work shall be omitted.
. That all of the work or improvement aforesaid sha11 be done
and performed in accordance with and to the grades ahown on Plans and
Specifications No. 1955-c-3 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City. Said plans are hereby referred to for a full and com-
plete description of said proposed work and for the grades to which
the work is to be done and said plans and specifications are by
reference made a-part hereof and shall govern for all details of the
proposed work.
That the total estimated cost of said work or improvement
is the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-five and No/100ths
Dollars ($3,555.00).
That said contemplated work is of general public benefit and
the said City Council hereby determines that forty per cent (40�) of
the cost of said proposed improvement shall be paid from the general
fund of said City.
Section.2: That said contemplated work or improvement, in
the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and said City Council hereby determines and declares
� that_the district to be benefited by said work or improvement, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of such work or improvement,
is shown on Plan No. 1955-C-4 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City, to which reference is hereby made for a full and complete
description of the assessment district.
• Section 3: The City Council hereby determines and declares
that serial bonds shall be issued in the manner and form provided in

Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code cited as the "Improvement
Act of 1911," as amended, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent
per annum to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00)
or over remaining unpaid for thirty days after the date of recordation
of the warrant; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine
years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October
fifteenth following their date. Said bonds and interest thereon shall
be paid at the office of the City Treasurer and the same shall be dis-
bursed by him, all as provided in the said "Improvement Act of 1911,"
as amended. ' � •

Section 4: Notice is hereby given that the provisions of
that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California desig-
nated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 4, cited as the
"Special Assessment Investigation Limitation and Ma�ority Protest Act
of 1931 as amended, have heretofore been fully complied with and all
the reports required under the provisions of said Act are on file in
the of£ice of the City Clerk of said City, open to public inspection,
and may there be examined by all interested persons.
Section 5: The proceedings for the aforesaid work or improve-
ment shall be taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State of
California designated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 7

cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto.
Section 6: The City Engineer is hereby directed to make a
diagram of the property affected or benefited by said proposed work
or improvement as described herein and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses of said work, showing each separate lot, piece, or parcel
_. _ of land and.the dimensions of each such lot, piece, or parcel of land
and the relative location of the same to the work or improvement pro-
posed to be done, all within the limits of said assessment district.
Section 7: Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 15th
day of November, 1955 at the hour of 8:00 orclock p.m., at the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood,
any and all persons having any ob�ections or protests to said proposed
work or improvement, or to the extent of the district to be assessed,
or to the grades to which the work is proposed to be done, may appear
before said City Council and show cause why said proposed work or im-
provement should not be carried out in accordance with this Resolution.
Section 8: The City Engineer, who is the Superintendent o£
Streets, is hereby directed to post notices of the passage of this
Resolution in the time, form, and manner required by law.
Section,9: .The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution by the City Council of said City of Lynwood and cause
the same to be published �wice in the Lynwood Press, a weekly newspaper

published and circulated in said City and hereby desi�nated by said
City Council for the purposes aforesaid. Said Clerk is also directed
to mail notices of the adoption of this Resolution of Intention in
the time, form, and mannen, and to the persons, all as provided in
4Nyy said "Improvement Act of 1911," as amended.
