RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, G NING NOTICE OF PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING ON THE EAST SIDE
OF LOUISE AVENUE AND SOUTHERLY OF CORTLAND STREET.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of 1g3g the City Council desires to annex that certain
property lying on the east side of Louise Avenue and southerly of
Cortland Street in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
and lying within the following described lines:
Beginning at a point on the southerly line of Lot 5,
Slausson Tract as shown on map recorded'in Book j, I
page 348 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California, distant thereon 593•58 feet I
easterly of the easterly line of Wright Road, 33 feet
wide, as shown on map filed in Book 43, page 44 of
Record of Surveys in the office of the Recorder of
said County, said point being,on the boundary line
of the City of Lynwood as said boundary line existed
June 14 1955 thence northerly along said boundary
line and following the same in all its various courses
to its intersect3on with a line having a bearing and
length of North 17 East 515,02 feet; thence
southerly.along said line to the southerly line of
said Lot 5; thence easterly in a direct line to the
point of beginning. . �
WHEREAS, these proceedings are,initiated by the,City Council
of the City of Lynwood because subject property'is completely surrounded
by the incorporated City of.Lynwood�.and�the City Council desires to
annex this�property in order to eliminate overlapping of services that
might arise through leaving said area an island.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act•of 1939" the City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby
gives notice o£ said proposed annexation.
Section 2: Said territory is hereby designated for identi-
fication as "Wright Road Annex No. 9,"
Section 3: Said City Council hereby gives notice of and
fixes the 6th day of September, 1g55 in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour,

and place when and where any person owning real property within such

, territory so proposed to be annexed and having any ob�ections to the
proposed annexation may appear before the City Council of said City
of Lynwood and show cause why sucfi territory should not be so annexed.
Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a
copy of this resolution to be published once a week for two successive
weeks prior to said hearin$, in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of
general circula�ion, printed and published in said City of Lynwood,
and also in the Herald-American, a newspaper of general circulation
publi�hed outs3de of the City of Lynwood but in the County in which
is located the �erritory proposed to be annexed.
. Section 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
