HomeMy Public PortalAbout2603 (06-21-55) RESOLUTION N0 2603 A RESOLUTION OF TI� CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD OVERRULING PROTESTS, ORDERING THE WORK AND LEVYING THE PROPOSED ASSESSEMENT FOR SERVICE NECESSARY TO MAINTAIIV AND ILLUMINATE ALL STREET LIGHTS IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD. � Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Lynwood, as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, did on the 17th day of May 1955 adopt a Resolution No. 2497 fixing the time arid place for a hearin$ in the matter of lighting maintenance district No. 17 of the City of•Lynwood, and WHEREAS, no protests or objections were filed with the City Clerk ob,jecting to the proposed improvement, the extent of the assess- ment district and the assesament therefore, and WHEREAS, all interested persons were given full opportunity to present their protests or ob,jections, and WHEREAS, evidence has been received as to the publication and posting of notice of said hearing in the time, form, and manner required by law, _ NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council after due consideration, of all such ob,jections and protests, does hereby overrrule and deny such protests and ob,jections and each of them to the work or improve- ment to be done within said Street Lighting Maintenance District as described in Resolution of Intention No 2596 of said City and to the proposed assessment therefor; and does hereby confirm and adopt as a whole, unmodified, the assessment and report as described in said Resolution No. 2596 and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the public interest and con- venience demands and requires and this City Council does hereby order the said contemplated improvement to be made in accordancewith the plans and specifications therefor, adopted and approved; and the City Council does hereby levy the said. proposed. assessment made to cover the -1- costs,and expenses of said improvement upon the respective subdivisions of land in said district and.as fixed by the proposed report and � assessment heretofore-filed in the off3ce of the City C�erk, and BE .IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood`is hereby ordered to transmit to the County of Los An�eles Tax Collector, the diagram and asaessment upon which such levy is based and said County Tax Collector is hereby authorized and directed , to,make collections of all such assessments, and to perform all the' acts and duties as are required of said.act to be performed by the persons designated as "Tax Collector" in Chapter 6 of the Street , Lighting Act of 1919 as amended.
