HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-022 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 400Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2006-22 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 400 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 400, an ordinance related to construction site storm water runoff control; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is 15 pages in length and consists of city zoning codes being repealed, amended, and added; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the City Administrator -Clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 400 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 400. The ordinance relates to construction site storm water runoff control regulations and involves city zoning codes being repealed, amended, and added. The purpose of the ordinance is to promote, preserve and enhance the natural resources within the City of Medina by regulating Land Disturbing or development activities that would have an adverse and potentially irreversible impact on water quality and unique and fragile environmentally sensitive land. The ordinance will be codified in various sections of the city's zoning codes.
