RESOLUTION URGING ENACTMENT OF ASSEMBLY BILL

WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood, California, is a member of
County Sanitation District No. 1 of the County of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the said City of Lynwood is
aware of the critical shortage of adequate rubbish transfer facilities
and disposal sites available for use within the said City, or said
Sanitation District, and
WHEREAS, the said City Council is aware of the.necessity for
regional planning with respect to adequate future transfer and dis- I
posal facilities for the City of Lynwood-and neighboring incorporated '
and unincorporated communities, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the said City of Lynwood ie
dissa�tisfied with the terms and conditions under which rubbish trans-
fer and disposal may be undertaken under the existing County Sanitation
Diatrict law and is aware that the.changes in the law proposed by A.B.
1459 introduced by the Honorable Ernest R. Geddes in the current
session of the Legislature will effect satisfactory conditions,
. NOW, THEREFORE, the said City Council of the said City of
Lynwood urges that A.s. 1459 be enacted into law in order to correct
deficiencies and inconsistencies in the existing Sanitation District
law a.nd provide adequate, long-term means of transfer and disposal
