HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-024 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 401Member Brinkman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2006-24 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 401 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 401, an ordinance related to land filling and land excavation/grading operations; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is 34 pages in length and consists of city zoning codes being repealed, amended, and added; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the City Administrator -Clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 401 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 401. The ordinance relates to land filling and land excavation/grading operations. The purpose of the ordinance is to minimize the effects on the environment, roads, and community with respect to land filling, land excavation and grading operations which change the topography of land. The ordinance will be codified in various sections of the city's zoning codes. The full text of Ordinance No. 401 is available for inspection at Medina city hall during regular business hours. Adams, City Administrator -Clerk Resolution No. 2006-24 1 March 21, 2006 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the City Administrator keep a copy of the ordinance in the clerk's office at city hall for public inspection and that the City Administrator post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.
