Gonzalez, Village Manage Date: February 19, 2021 Subject: Operations Facility Status The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) to provide you the status of the Village's new Operations Facility located at 1840 NE 144 Street in North Miami. Currently, the construction activity has progressed to 100% Substantial Completion with minor punchlist items identified for correction. Staff anticipates receiving a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) by Friday, February 19 pursuant to the Miami -Dade County Fire Department approval allowing staff to move in to the Operations Facility. The Certificate of Completion (CO) will be received after satisfactory completion of a 4 -hour Load Test for the generator as requested by the Miami -Dade Fire Department. We anticipate this will be completed by no later than March 15. We are planning a Ribbon Cutting event to kick-off the opening of our new facility tentatively for late March and once all the details are finalized, they will be shared with you. We look forward to an exciting event that celebrates the continuation of our Capital Program projects. The demolition of the existing Facilities Operations Building, Recreation Center and Playground located at 18 Bal Bay has also commenced with a site meeting on February 17 with the contractor, sub -contractors and Village staff to locate and confirm all the utilities. The contractor will be installing the temporary construction fencing this Saturday, February 20 to delimit access to the demolition site. Demolition is anticipated to begin the week of February 22. The entrance to the basketball courts will be modified and we expect to open courts to the residents by Monday, March 1. Subsequently, the Village Park project will commence construction. A Ground Breaking event is tentatively scheduled for late June and once the details are finalized, they will be shared with you.
