HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-038 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 404Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2006-38 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 404 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 404, an ordinance amending Sections 800.01 et seq. of the Medina Code of Ordinances regarding swimming pools; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 404 is 4 pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 404 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 404. The ordinance amends the ordinance regulating private swimming pools. The amended ordinance decreases the height of safety fences surrounding pools from 5' to 4' and allows the use of an automatic pool cover as an alternate to a safety fence. When the house or other structure forms a portion of the pool enclosure, the amended ordinance requires the use of an alarm on all doors leading from the house or structure into the pool area. A copy of the complete ordinance is available from the city administrator -clerk. Chad M.
