Summary of Activities and Events
Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement Officers (CEOs)assisted the Patrol Division by providing support services to dispatch
personnel and patrol officers engaged in operations related to the Surfside building collapse. CEOs
manned phones and delivered supplies. CEOs patrolled the Village in high visibility mode. When
needed, CEOs assisted in traffic posts.
Criminal Investigations
Detectives investigated the alleged theft of a $20,000 bracelet. The victim's family believed caregivers
may have been responsible for the theft. The report was filed by the victim's son after the victim's death.
When detectives interviewed family members, they learned the family found the bracelet while sorting
through the victim's belongings.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID)conducted a follow-up investigation regarding the theft of a
$5,000 purse from a retailer at the Bal Harbour Shops. Detectives reviewed the available video footage
of the theft and captured images of the suspects. Detectives used the images for Need -to -Identify flyers
which they distributed to other law enforcement agencies. The identity of the suspects remains unknown
at this time.
All CID personnel assisted the Patrol Division in manning various traffic posts related to the Surfside
building collapse.
