RESOLUTION NO. 18-9552
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TERMINATING ACTING CITY
MANAGER, NEWALL J. DAUGHTREY; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2017, the City Commission appointed Newall Daughtrey
as Acting City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the City to
terminate the City Manager.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. RECITALS ADOPTED.
The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. AUTHORIZATION
The City Commission hereby terminates Acting City Manager, Newall Daughtrey.
Section 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS.
Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re-lettered and corrections of
typographical errors which do not affect the intent may be authorized by the City
Manager, or the City Manager's designee, without need of public hearing, by filing a
corrected copy of same with the City Clerk.
Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption and is subject to the
approval of the Governor or his designee.

RESOLUTION NO. 18-9483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA,APPOINTING AN ACTING CITY
MANAGER DUE TO THE DEPARTURE OF ED BROWN AS
CITY MANAGER; ESTABLISHING AN ANNUAL SALARY;
AND A TERM OF SERVICE; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, due to actions taken by the City Commission at the April 11, 2018
meeting,Ed Brown will no longer serve as City Manager as of April 11, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, pursuant to Article III, Section 3.4 of the City
Charter, appoints Newall J. Daughtrey as Acting City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the City to
appoint Newall J. Daughtrey as Acting City Manager.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. Newall J. Daughtrey is hereby appointed Acting City Manager.
Section 3.Newall J. Daughtrey salary shall be set at$112,500.00 annually.
Section 4 Newall J. Daughtrey shall serve as Acting City Manager until such time as
a City Manager is hired.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption, and is
subject to the approval of the Governor or his designee.
