SUBJECT: Compliment for the Bal Harbour PoliL Department from Israel Elgamil
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to share with you an email received by Chief
Raleigh Flowers from Israel Elgamil, Surfside resident.
On Saturday, July 31, 2021, Lt. Amago and all on -duty Bal Harbour Police Officers
responded to a missing juvenile call, who was last seen in Bal Harbour.
The email from Mr. Elgamil thanked Lt. Amago and all the officers involved for their efforts,
professionalism and compassion during this very difficult time for the Elgamil family.
Thankfully, our officers were able to locate the juvenile on Harding Avenue, and reunite
the family and their loved one. The officers that responded in addition to Lt. Amago were
Sgt. McClams, Officer Gonzalez, and Officer Blanco. A copy of the email is attached for
your information and reference.
I would like to take this opportunity to commend our officers for providing quality police
service, representing our community so capably, and exemplifying the Bal Harbour
Experience.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Chief Raleigh Flowers at

Dear Chief Flowers and Chief Escarra,
I would like to send a tremendous thank you to your entire team for all of their help with the search for
Jordan last night. From the first responding officer, Adrian Gonzalez and then Sergeant
Btaxton Mcclams , who started taking information and coordinating efforts in the early hours of the
morning to help locate Jordan, who also had a keen eye in observing individuals previously that day.
After gathering additional information, Lieutenant Oscar Omago assured us that they were doing their
best to locate him. Special thanks to the Super star female officer, Erica Blanco who searched and
located his hat and phone by the dock over the bridge, even after we already checked there. After those
items were found, my heart gut wrenching feeling of something awful happened to him caused us to
panic. Under the leadership of Lieutenant Oscar Omago, your officers were professional, competent and
a confident. My wife and I appreciate all you do as you restored comfort in our hearts.
Please let me know what we can do to support your team so you can continue to do the good work you
do.
Thank you again
