The BSO stopped the vehicle and issued a verbal warning. The BSO distributed flyers, assisted with coordinating and participated in the Helmet Heroes –Bike Safety Event. The BSO encountered one dog off a leash. Leash was placed on the dog upon request. The BSO assisted an elderly female in distress directly behind 10295 Collins Avenue. The female was safely taken out of the water with the assistance of two good Samaritans. The female refused medical attention. The BSO conducted several checks of the beach and jetty for compliance of Village ordinances. 0 8 /0 6 /2 0 2 1 A si st O t h e r A g e n cy East Bay H ar b o r D r . an d 9 6 St r e e t Surfside police issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a suspect wanted for theft from the CVS in Surfside. A Bal Harbour officer observed and detained a suspect matching the description. Surfside responded and arrested the individual after making a positive identification. 0 8 /0 6 /2 0 2 1 Su sp i ci o u s In ci d e n t 9 9 0 9 Co l l i n s A v e n u e Bal Harbour officers were dispatched to the Sea View Hotel to an emergency domestic assault or battery. The call was transferred from Miami-Dade Police Communications via a third party out of state complainant claiming that a relative phoned, stating she was the victim of a domestic violence. The investigation revealed her location could not be confirmed and no one by t hat name was registered at the hotel. 0 8 /0 7 /2 0 2 1 Tr af f i c In ci d e n t N o r t h Lo t /Fr o n t ag e Ro ad While conducting traffic enforcement on Frontage Road, a Bal Harbour officer observed a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction. The officer conducted a traffic stop and discovered the driver had an expired driver’s license. The driver was issued the appropriate citations. 0 8 /0 9 /2 0 2 1 A r r e st D UI 9 6 0 0 Bl o ck o f Co l l i n s A v e n u e Bal Harbour Shops security notified Bal Harbour Police of a female who exited the shops without paying for parking. A Bal Harbour officer located the suspect as she drove away and initiated a traffic stop. The investigation revealed the female was driving under the influence of alcohol. Bal Harbour officers managed the traffic intersections until the power was restored. 0 8 /1 1 /2 0 2 1 Fe l o n y Ret ai l Th e f t 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e Bal Harbour Shops security personnel notified a Bal Harbour police officer regarding a theft in progress at Neiman’s Marcus. Upon our officers arriving, the suspect was detained by security. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail.
