A Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle speeding on Collins Avenue. The
investigation revealed the driver had an open bench warrant for failure to appear and was subsequently
transported to the Miami Dade County Jail. Once the booking process commenced, a corrections
officer advised that the judge had just set aside the warrant and re-scheduled a new hearing date for
the offender. The individual was transported back to the scene of the stop and was made whole as per
Florida legal guidelines.
