The BSO met with members of the Federal Aviation Administration who were conducting compliance inspections of drone operators. The BSO informed a visitor on the beach to remove a pop-up tent due to code restrictions and high winds. 0 8 /2 1 /2 0 2 1 Su sp i ci o u s In ci d e n t 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e Bal Harbour officers responded to Saks Fifth Avenue regarding reports of “shots fired.” Officers from multiple agencies responded and established a perimeter in the area. A thorough search of the area was conducted and no evidence of a shooting was located. The reporter told police several males were arguing and brandished firearms. The males then immediately left the area. 0 8 /2 2 /2 0 2 1 Th e f t 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e An unknown female entered the “Marni” store located on the second floor of the Bal Harbour Shops. The female removed merchandise from a mannequin display and concealed it in a shopping bag and exited the store. The incident was captured on the store surveillance camera. This case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division for further investigation. 0 8 /2 3 /2 0 2 1 A r r e st 9 6 0 0 Bl o ck o f Co l l i n s A v e n u e Officers initiated a traffic stop along the Collins Avenue corridor. During the traffic investigation,officers discovered an open container of alcohol on the floorboard. A routine history check revealed t he driver did not have a valid license. The driver was arrested and issued multiple citations. 0 8 /2 4 /2 0 2 1 M i ssi n g Pe r so n Re co v e r y 1 0 2 4 0 Co l l i n s A v en u e NYPD requested Bal Harbour officers to check on the welfare of a missing person possibly visiting in Bal Harbour. Officers located the missing person and his wife safe and in good health. The missing person entry was removed from the police database. 0 8 /2 4 /2 0 2 1 A r r est N o r t h M u n i ci p al Par k i n g Lo t While conducting an area check, officers noted a vehicle parked in the lot after hours. The officer began to issue a parking citation when the vehicle turned on and began leaving the area. The officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered the driver had an active arrest warrant. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to jail. 0 8 /2 4 /2 0 2 1 Th ef t A r r e st 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e A sales associate at the Ermanno Scervino store observed a female acting suspiciously and immediately noticed a purse was missing. The associate followed the female out of the store and demanded she return the purse. The female continued to walk away without returning the merchandise at which time a BHSsecurity officer radioed for assistance. The Bal Harbour reserve officer working the Shops detail observed the female as she crossed Collins Ave nue and apprehended her without incident. The purse was recovered and returned to the associate. A records check revealed the female also had an active felony warrant. The female was arrested and transported to Miami-Dade County Jail. 0 8 /2 5 /2 0 2 1 Re co v e r y M i ssi n g Pe r so n 1 0 1 9 5 Co l l i n s A v en u e A Bal Harbour police officer was dispatched to the jetty area regarding an elderly male feeling ill. A routine history check revealed the male was reported missing person out of the City of Miami. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Family members were contacted and advised the male was located. 0 8 /2 6 /2 0 2 1 Su sp i ci o u s I n ci d en t 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v en u e An anonymous person called the Bal Harbour police communications and reported a suspicious male possibly looking into cars in the parking garage of the Bal Harbour Shops. The male was located and was eventually trespassed from the Bal Harbour Shops.
