The male was advised of the potential dangers and was asked to remain within the designated swimming area for his safety. The BSO conducted bike patrols and responded to the area of the 100th block of 96th street regarding reports of a vessel on fire. The BSO conducted bike patrols and encountered 1 dog on the beach (non BH resident) and two individuals (non BH residents) riding their bicycle in a non-designated area. Additionally,a male was observed fishing on a raft directly behind the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The BSO and the Marine officer instructed the male to leave. 0 9 /1 8 /2 0 2 1 A ssi st Un i t e d St at e s Co ast Gu ar d H au l o v e r I n l et Bal Harbour officers assisted the U.S. Coast Guard regarding a vessel of migrants attempting to enter the Haulover Inlet. O fficers staged along the beachside in anticipation of the vessel coming ashore. The vessel was intercepted in Sunny Isles Beach and did not impact Bal Harbour. 0 9 /1 8 /2 0 2 1 Ve h i cl e Cr ash Co l l i n s A v e n u e an d 7 5 St r e e t While driving on the way to work, a Bal Harbour officer was sideswiped by a vehicle whose driver made an illegal left turn. Miami Beach responded to handle the accident and subsequently arrested the other driver for operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers’ license. 0 9 /1 8 /2 0 2 1 D i st u r b an ce 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e A Bal Harbour officer observed a group of juveniles running through the Bal Harbour Shops. The juveniles fled on foot upon seeing police and security approaching. All juveniles were eventually located on Collins Avenue. The parents of all juveniles were contacted and responded to pick them up. No injuries or damages were reported. 0 9 /1 9 /2 0 2 1 A ssi st O t h e r A g en cy To w n o f Su r f si d e The Town of Surfside PD investigated a death involving an infant which required several of their personnel. Bal Harbour PD units assisted by handling all calls for service in Surfside. 0 9 /2 0 /2 0 2 1 Th e f t 2 6 8 Bal Bay D r i v e The complainant told officers a blue paddle board is typically stored on the dock at the rear of the residence. The owner noticed the paddleboard was missing,and after reviewing the home security system footage, an unknown male was observed removing the paddleboard and leaving the area via the intracoastal waterway. The Criminal Investigations Division will conduct a follow-up investigation. 0 9 /2 0 /2 0 2 1 t h r u 0 9 /2 2 /2 0 2 1 Su k k o t Vi l l ag e W i d e In preparation for the Sukkot Holiday, patrol units implemented High Visibility Patrols throughout the village. Additionally, officers were assigned to specific intersections to monitor and assist with pedestrian traffic. 0 9 /2 2 /2 0 2 1 Th ef t 1 0 2 0 1 Co l l i n s A v en u e Police were summoned to the rear of the Oceana regarding the theft of an unsecured bicycle. The victim said he went for a swim and when he returned, his bike was gone. An extensive area canvass was conducted; however, the bike was not found. A description of the bike was broadcasted to our neighboring agencies. The Criminal Investigations Division will conduct a follow-up investigation.
