Marine Patrol officers also assisted field patrol. The male fled on foot once officers arrived. Officers were able to apprehend the male on the hardpack;the male was experiencing a mental crisis and was transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. 1 0 /0 2 /2 0 2 1 A g g r av at ed Bat t e r y 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e A Bal Harbour Shops security guard was directing vehicular traffic at the valet entrance; the guard then instructed a vehicle to stop. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and struck the guard with the vehicle. The guard sustained injuries to his lower extremities. The driver of the vehicle was located, arrested, and transported to jail. 1 0 /0 2 /2 0 2 1 A ssi st O t h er A g e n cy 9 2 St r e et an d Co l l i n s A v e n u e Bal Harbour officers assisted the Town of Surfside Police in attempting to located a missing juvenile. Officers conducted an extensive area canvass in our jurisdiction; however, the juvenile was not located. The juvenile was located safe and sound the next day. 1 0 /0 3 /2 0 2 1 D o g Bi t e 9 7 0 0 Co l l i n s A v e n u e A Bal Harbour Shops patron was dining in the Hillstone restaurant with her dog. Another patron attempted to pet her dog and was bitten on the hand. The victim suffered a laceration, and Miami- Dade Fire Rescue responded and treated the victim on scene. The do g owner told officers this was the first incident of its kind and the dog did not appear to be aggressive in the officer’s presence. 1 0 /0 4 /2 0 2 1 M i ssi n g J u v e n i l e 1 0 1 7 5 Co l l i n s A v e n u e A juvenile was reported missing by her parents. Officers traced her cellphone to a location in Bay Harbor Islands. The missing juvenile was recovered at her friend’s house and was transported to the Bal Harbour Police station and released to her parents. 1 0 /0 4 /2 0 2 1 A ssi st o t h e r A g e n cy (M D PD /D EA )9 6 0 1 Co l l i n s A v e n u e A tenant was evicted from a rental unit and officers discovered hazardous materials in the unit that was consistent with a clandestine narcotics laboratory. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Bomb Squad, and DEA officials responded to secure the scene and confiscate the material. Residents on three floors were evacuated as a precaution while officials conducted their investigation. Once the unit was secured and sanitized residents returned to their units without further incident. Miami-Dade Police Narco tics Detectives along with the DEA and ATF are investigating the incident.
