• Federally funded and managed by the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers
• This project provides:
• Beach erosion control
• Hurricane surge protection
• Protect infrastructure
• Preserve the environment for wildlife
• Support the economy (tourism)
• Builds coastal resiliency
• 200,000 cubic yards
• ~90,000 cubic ya rds from Flood Shoal (Dredging)
• —110,000 cubic yards from Upland Source (Truck Haul)

Boating Safety
• While dredging acti vity is in
progre ss:
• Public access to sandbar will be
limited; de pending on dredge plant
location.
• Cava che will be using staging area
at Haulov er Marina, fenced and
monitored by security at all times.
Pedestrian/Traffic Safety
• While construction activity is in
progress:
• Access point at 96th Stre et will be
monitored by flaggers to direct
pe destria n traffic and any emergency
vehicle s.
• Ca va che will se cure the construction
a ccess area using a temporary
construction fence a round the dumping
a rea.
• No e quipment will be left at the beach
during period of no construction activity.
Pedestrian/Tr affic Saf ety
• While construction acti vity is in
progress:
• ADA ramp will be placed over
pipe line at the jetty. On th e beach,
pipeline will have sa nd ramps.
Pedestrian/Traffic Safety
• Each workday shall b egin once
clearance prov ided by turtle monitors
• Ha ul roa d traffic control shall be
inspe cted e ach morning before hauling
operations begin
• Truck hauls shall be escorted by
properly trained escort
• Tra ffic control dev ices will be re moved
each day at the completion of da y's

Contractor Parking
• At the Haulover Marina Staging Area
• ATVs will be used to tr ansfer p ersonnel to/from b each.
How It Affects You
• MOST of the beach will remain open MOST of the time.
• Business as usual
• During construction, access to certain parts of the beach will be restricted
and/or closed, for safety purposes.
• During co nstruction, parts of the beach will need to be cleared of all
chairs, umbrellas, huts, etc.
• The contractor will be co mpleting the beach north to south at the rate of
several hundred feet per day.
• You will see them co ming.
• The contractor will coordinate directly with the vendors (e .g ., chair
vendo rs) on the beach as best as possible.
• The contracto r will also reach out to management (that they know about)
with information.
