Gonzalez, Village Manager Date: October 29, 2021 Subject: Elsie Howard The purpose of this LTC is to share with you that Elsie Howard, esteemed member of the Resort Tax Committee and longtime resident of Bal Harbour is moving away from Bal Harbour and as such, resigning her appointment to the Resort Tax Committee, effective November 22, 2021. Elsie was appointed by Councilman David Albaum on December 20, 2016 to the Resort Tax Committee. She has served as committee member, and was elected as Vice - Chair in September, 2019 and subsequently re-elected in October 2020 and October 2021. She has been an active participant on the Committee and an avid supporter in the expansion of the Unscripted Bal Harbour events beyond Art to also include Music and Culinary events. Elsie Howard previously served with the Miami Beach Visitors & Convention Authority, and was a founding co-chair of the Miami Mayor's Blue Ribbon Taskforce on Tourism. She also served on the Board of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau. Additionally, she has been actively involved with the University of Miami/Sylvester Cancer Center, the Board of Trustees for the Council for Educational Change, and The University of Pennsylvania as past chairman of Penn's Alumni Admissions Resource Center as a Penn Trustee. Elsie will continue to reside in South Florida but will be spending more of her time in Hawaii where her family has relocated. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. JMG/TB/RI/MH
