HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-050 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 409P fll Member Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2006-50 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 409 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 409, an ordinance repealing Sections 820.33, 828.09 and 828.41, amending Section 830.06 and adding new Section 828.41 of the Medina Code of Ordinances regarding Tree Preservation and Replacement; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 409 is 21 pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk -treasurer shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 409 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 409. The ordinance repeals and amends existing code sections related to tree preservation and replacement by adding a new section. Subject to certain exemptions and a certain amount of allowed tree disturbances, the new section requires tree preservation and/or replacement for formal land use applications to the city that are to be zoned residential; site improvements requiring a building, grading, driveway, sign or Wetland Conservation Act permit; or redevelopment of a legal non -conforming principal structure. A copy of the complete ordinance is available from the city administrator -clerk. Chad M.
