Subject: Bal Harbour Tourism Department Monthly Resort Tax Revenue Report for
April 2022
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to transmit to you the Monthly Tourism Resort Tax
Revenue Report from the Bal Harbour Tourism Department to provide you with an update on Resort
Tax Collections in the Village.
The attached report reflects all resort tax revenue collected from the Lodging (4%) and Food &
Beverage (2%) entities by the Village throughout the month of April 2022 from a report generated
directly from our financial management system. The report compares results to previous years and
includes FY 2020-2022 monthly results and variances.
The results for April FY 2022 and YTD with comparative to April FY 2021 and YTD, and April FY 2020
and YTD are as follows:

The April 2022 results of $622,497 is a Village record for April - surpassing by $41,230 or 7% versus
April 2021, the previous all-time high for April, and $611,846 or 5,745% higher than April 2020, the
first full month effect of the COVID 19 Pandemic. The October - April results of $4,231,402 continue
to set an all-time record $1,192,089 or 39% higher than October - April FY 2021 and $1,869,059 or
79% higher than October - April FY 2020.
