The area was secured by placing traffic cones. PPS was notified. 0 6 /0 4 /2 0 2 2 Po w e r O u t ag e Bal Har b o u r Po l i ce St at i o n The Bal Harbour Police Station experienced a power outage caused by water intrusion from the roof that cause a breaker failure in the electrical panel. Immediate measures were taken to secure the station an to re-establish all communications. Officers located the motorcycles, cited both drivers and escorted them from the area. 0 6 /0 6 /2 0 2 2 Tr af f i c A cci d e n t 9 9 0 0 Bl o ck Co l l i n s 0 6 /0 7 /2 0 2 2 Tr af f i c I n ci d en t 1 0 2 0 0 Bl o ck Co l l i n s A v e n u e While conducting radar enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer initiated a traffic stop after receiving an alert from the LPR. A history check confirmed the owner of the vehicle had a seize tag order issued by the State of Florida. The tag was impounded, and the driver was issued numerous citations. 0 6 /0 8 /2 0 2 2 A ssi st O t h e r A g e n cy Ru t h Br o ad K-8 To ensure the safety of the students and staff at Ruth K Broad K-8, Bal Harbour officers assisted Miami- Dade Schools and Bay Harbor Islands police by providing coordinated security checks at the school. Bal Harbour officers conducted area checks around the school and conducted Park-n-Walk checks throughout the school campus. 0 6 /0 8 /2 0 2 2 Gr af f i t i N o r t h Lo t While on routine patrol, a Bal Harbour officer discovered stickers and some graffiti marking on several stop signs and informational signs in the North Lot. PPS was notified, and photos were taken. 0 6 /0 8 /2 0 2 2 Se v er e W e at h e r Vi l l ag e W i d e A severe thunderstorm affected the area causing some minor flooding and traffic delays. Bal Harbour officers were posted throughout the village to mitigate any issues and traffic concerns. PPS personnel were available and immediately took measures to alleviate the flooding. No significant incidents were reported. 0 6 /0 9 /2 0 2 2 Bak e r A ct 1 0 2 7 5 Co l l i n s A v e n u e Bal Harbour officers were summoned to the Harbour House regarding an unauthorized male on the property. Officers located the male and later determined he met the criteria for Baker Act. The male was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
