The background investigation ensures officers serving the Bal Harbour Community are properly qualified and community policing oriented. The CID investigated an allegation of credit card fraud. The case involved several transactions occurring outside of Bal Harbour jurisdiction. After reviewing the available facts, detectives determined the crime was not committed within the Village and assisted the victim in contacting the agency of proper jurisdiction. Detectives closed an investigation involving two retail theft suspects active at the Saks Fifth Avenue store. The suspects fled from the mall, but det ectives were able to obtain vehicle information from tag readers. The suspects were linked to other thefts at different stores in Miami-Dade County.
