HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006-070 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 417Member Smith introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2006-70 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 417 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 417 an ordinance amending Sections 825.37; 825.43; 825.47, 825.77 and 827.33, of the Medina code of ordinances relating to notice requirements; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 417 is five pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the city administrator -clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 417 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 417. The ordinance expands the area of mailed notification from 350 feet to 1000 feet for public hearings for rezonings, conditional use permits, variances, interim use permits, and PUD concept plans for properties located within any of the city's rural residential zoning districts. The mailed notice requirement remains 350 feet for land within any other zoning district. In addition, certain time limits for city action on land use applications have been eliminated or modified to be consistent with state law.
